Day 5: Jomsom (2710m) to Muktinath (3769m)

We woke-up  early in the morning and went up to the roof of the hotel for couple of shots and a video in 360 degree view. Then we drove towards the hanging bridge of jomson to see the airport and to take a shot of plane landing at jomsom airport. The plane landing sequence here is simply thrilling. The runway is like just below the rocky hills. The wind was blowing heavy and the bridge was moving too much. What else, sonam dropped his tripod screw of the camera thru the bridge to the Kali gandaki Khola.

The weather was fine so we captured  snow capped Nilgiri range (7061m).

Back to the hotel, had some breakfast, tied up stuffs to the bike as usual and geared up towards Muktinath. Before heading towards Muktinath we managed to find some petrol at almost double the usual price as the petrol was getting low and it would be impossible to find petrol above Jomsom.

Along with The sandy desert mountain trail and the stormy wind blowing at high speed and extreme hot temperature we passed upon the small and monarchy village Kagbeni.  The wing blowing from the opposite direction made our ride more adventurous as sometimes it even made us laid on the ground. Along crossing lots of inclined road and some really wide plateau through the Desert Mountains of Mustang we reached Muktinath temple.

Muktinath is religious temple (3800m) for both Buddhism and Hinduism. There are 2 small pond infront of the temple. Left one is “Dharma Kunda” and right one is “Paap Kunda”. A magnificent view of the location didn’t make us feel bored as we waited for the Lama (Nun) for couple of hours to enter inside the temple.

Around  6 PM we finished religious task and headed upward till 4000m to explore the track for tomorrow till 7:30pm. The ways seemed  difficult but not impossible but still we doubt crossing the very narrow and weak hanging bridge which was linking the very high hills and was meant only for the trekkers.

So we thought from tomorrow the dimension of our journey will be complete change as we were going to explore more nomadic place.
